Dan’s Backyard Shed Build

My brother Dan shares a project where he builds, paints and then organizes a shed in two weeks time. I didn’t have anything to do with the project but got his permission to share the details for whoever might want to be tackling a similar project. Maybe me.

Had hoped to have put the decking down today, but, alas- not to be. Will put the sealing tape along the last side and corner- were wet so wasn’t sticking a bit ago. Once tape finished the flooring goes on. Hopefully early tomorrow. Then I can start framing walls! Should have the shed and front fencing refurbishment done by end of next week/ middle of the week following- weather permitting

Wow! Nicely done! I had never seen those holders/mounts on the ground. Looks like something I should look into. Also you have insulation on the floor?
The corner blocks are called Camo blocks. Available at Home Depot. Make leveling the foundation a lot easier. Dug down 4-6 inches, threw a bag of gravel in the hole (drainage), tamped it down then leveled the Camo block. I was able to set the four blocks, level the sleepers, then frame the platform yesterday in about 5 hours. Squared the frame and secured it to the sleepers, then cut the support blocks for the insulation foam this morning in between lightning storms (and rain squalls). Installed the foam this afternoon. The insulation will help form a water resistant barrier which should lengthen the life of the floor. At least that’s what the internet, and plans, said.
Thanks for the details!

My day’s accomplishment.

That looks like such a bigger accomplishment than what I’m currently doing 😊
You do nice work
Maybe I’ll do one.

The shed looks like it is coming along great 😊

Now I get to lug all these materials down to the backyard…

It's a sheathed shed. Tomorrow roof joists and roof sheathing, soffits, and getting it ready for shingles. Which will go on Saturday.

Yay!

This has been fighting me all day.... not in a very good mood."

Soffits are on. Not pictured, yet- so are the roof facings. Hope to start shingles tomorrow.

Started hanging ladders and tools, shelves, and garden stakes (between the rafters).

Wow! That is beautifully organized. Mine won’t be.

After I finished adding to and tying the shed into our pathway.

Great job Dan!
